Shushah Island

Design Phase

Saudi, Arabia

The Shushah Island Design project is designed to push the boundaries of architecture and sustainability while creating a unique and transformative experience for visitors. The primary objective is to develop a HIPE (Human Improvement & Performance Enhancement) Traveller Resort, where wellness, research, education, and leisure seamlessly intertwine. This destination will not only be a space for relaxation but also an innovative hub for knowledge and personal growth.

A key priority is maintaining an environmentally conscious approach throughout all phases of the project. Special care will be given to protecting the coral reef, a vital natural asset, while recognizing that the land-based ecosystem lacks certain qualities. Human intervention will be required to enhance and create unique environmental features.

The resort will offer a groundbreaking leisure and entertainment experience, with architectural and landscape designs that feel otherworldly and radical. However, despite its futuristic appearance, the project must remain firmly grounded in reality. It is essential to integrate advanced, sustainable solutions that align with the broader environmental objectives of NEOM.

Giò Forma has designed site-specific installations that have been thoughtfully integrated into a masterplan curated by Gensler, RBTA, SWA Design, and LAND.

These installations harmonize with the overall vision of the project, contributing to the unique architectural and environmental expression of the development.
