Mediterranean Games: a spectacular water ceremony centered around Abruzzo's traditional cultures.
Pescara (2019)
30,000 spectators, 1,300 volunteer performers and 23 nations celebrated the opening of the Mediterranean Games in Pescara.
To show has begun with a powerful sense of humanity demonstrated by all the participants with a tribute dedicated to the victims of the Aquila earthquake. The traditional culture of Abruzzo, the Italian region hosting the games was the main aspirational theme of the ceremony.
For the first time in the history of Mediterranean Games the “water ceremony” took place during the Opening, becoming a leitmotiv of this sport event and being reproduced in the next ceremonies.
