Giò Forma Botanica by Bitossi Home:
A Celebration of Botanical Heritage in Fine Bone China
2017
Giò Forma Botanica is a project that blends style, design, exclusivity, and imagery inspired by the world of botany. It seeks to share and celebrate the richness of Italy’s botanical heritage through exquisite tableware. The collection draws inspiration from historical illustrations that have been preserved for centuries in botanical gardens.
This 2017 limited-edition tableware set, consisting of 5,000 pieces, is crafted in Italy and meticulously decorated by hand. The designs are derived from illustrations conceived by the Orto Botanico of Padua, reinterpreted with a contemporary aesthetic.
Crafted from premium bone china, the finest and most luxurious porcelain, the collection boasts a pristine white base adorned with botanical-inspired motifs in two distinct hues: a deep blue and a striking shade of red, which leans towards a vibrant plum tone. These intricate designs, resembling artistic sketches, reimagine historical botanical graphics with a modern twist.
Each plate is hand-decorated by skilled artisans in Tuscany, ensuring that every piece is unique. The collection includes dinner plates, soup plates, serving platters, dessert plates, and fruit bowls—an exquisite ensemble that is both collectible and functional.
While these pieces are undoubtedly collectible, they are meant to be used—perfect for special occasions or as statement pieces for enthusiasts of botanical artistry. The plates, in particular, are designed not only for dining but also as decorative elements that can be elegantly displayed on walls.
Giò Forma Botanica by Bitossi Home is more than just tableware—it is a tribute to art, craftsmanship, and the timeless beauty of nature, encapsulated in an exclusivelimited edition.
